I was psyched to be working this morning with my good friend and avid cyclist, Casson Hersh. Cass is an all around inspiring guy with an unrivaled spirit for epic adventure. In the summer of ’08, he and fellow cyclist, Ryan Gerasimowicz, took a month off to bike from Seattle to San Francisco. They road along the Pacific Coast… biked everyday & camped every night!
Most of us acknowledge Chris Cooley as a fan favorite here in DC. Not only is the (6’3″ – 250lb) tight end admired for his talents on the field, he’s also revered as one of the Redskins more colorful characters and has earned the nickname “Captain Chaos” amongst his teammates.
These images were created at Cooley’s home in Leesburg, were he hosted the last day of production for the feature film, Ghosts Don’t Exist. To illustrate his involvement as an executive producer, we chose to photograph Chris hanging out amongst the crew’s grip truck & equipment.
A few days after production wrapped, we returned to his home to create the studio portrait. Although Chris was under the weather that morning, he was quite accommodating and patient as we put together this shot.
Although this image immediately caught my eye… I haven’t had a chance to look through our whole take yet.
